I have to confess

Memling, Maria Baroncellithat I’ve had the hots for this lovely lady ever since I saw her wonderful portrait in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She’s Maria Baroncelli, painted by Hans Memling shortly after her wedding to Tomaso Portinari in 1470. Isn’t she a cutie?

Alas, I don’t think it’s going to work out. For one thing, there’s my wife (and Maria’s husband). Also, I don’t know if she’d be interested in someone so much younger than her.

Sigh.
